“I self therefore I am”
With the pressure to create or be captured in digital images of ourselves and our lives we must make choices in how we wish to be perceived. Through staging or digital manipulation we can create a fantasy or censor the truth. Developing a sense of identity through the feedback of what can be perceived as the truth or lies of photographs is the subject of this exploration.
On August 15th & 19th at the Makers lab in Hurleyville Liz had members of the public take self portraits in a professional setting but could not see the picture till after all were taken. These photos were visible immediately and examined with the subject. A short survey was be taken exploring how people perceive themselves and how they want to present themselves in images.
